I started this project in 2006 and am still weathering railroad stock and adding details yet to this day. The locomotives and some of the train cars have all been custom painted and weathered by me using Designer Gouache, Acrylics, and powdered chalk. The Railroad Layout is modeled after the Davenport Rock Island & Northwestern commonly known as the “DRI-LINE”. The DRI-LINE at its closing in 1995 ran 37 miles of track from Clinton to Davenport Iowa and then across the Crescent bridge to Rock Island & East Moline. It was a small switching railroad co-owned by both the SOO LINE and Burlington Northern Railroad and was dissolved in June of 1995 having begun in 1901.
