For some STEM Learning!
It was a great day at the ballpark for more than 400 area 8th grade students who took part in this year’s STEM at the Ballpark event at Modern Woodmen Park, home of the Quad City River Bandits.
Designed to help students discover Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) topics through a wide range of baseball-themed sessions, STEM at the Ballpark has been a success for the past four years.
Students had a chance to explore the science behind a curveball, see how Modern Woodmen Park defends itself against the elements during spring floods, build a ferris wheel using marshmallows and toothpicks, try out the broadcast equipment and game day cameras, and much more.
In a great partnership with the River Bandits, students also received vouchers to come back later that night and enjoy a game with their families.
